The position is based in New York, with an expectation of being in the office at least three days a week.

Key responsibilities include counseling journalists, business teams, and leadership on legal issues related to newsgathering, access to information, libel, intellectual property, artificial intelligence, and privacy. The New York Times Company is committed to being the world's best source of independent, reliable, and quality journalism. Joining the legal department offers the opportunity to work closely with teams throughout the company on a wide range of legal and compliance matters, supporting the mission to seek the truth and help people understand the world.
