The Senior Data Analyst will support key business functions, including Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Partnerships, and Product, by delivering high-quality analytics, automated reporting, and actionable insights. This role sits at the intersection of analytics, finance, and business strategy, partnering closely with Data Engineering to build scalable data models and workflows that power financial and partnership analysis. The ideal candidate is highly technical, comfortable working with complex datasets, and experienced in translating ambiguous business questions into well-structured analyses and clear narratives for senior leaders.

Key responsibilities include performing ad hoc analyses to identify trends and underlying root causes across 8am's product ecosystem, working with Data Engineering to automate data transformations based on findings, and collaborating cross-functionally with teams like Finance, Accounting, Partnerships, and Product to convert data into insights. The analyst will manage all steps of the data lifecycle—collection, measurement, analysis, interpretation, and presentation—providing qualitative and quantitative analysis and presenting findings to stakeholders along with recommendations supported by rigorous analysis and statistics. Additionally, the role involves developing rich, interactive visualizations to help stakeholders understand their area of the business and translate insights into data-driven decisions.

Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree, preferably in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Business, Computer Science, or Engineering, or equivalent experience. The candidate should be proficient in advanced data transformations in SQL and Excel, experienced in transforming, analyzing, and visualizing data in Python, and skilled in using business intelligence or visualization software like Tableau or Sigma. Experience with modern data stacks, including cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake or Redshift, is essential. Prior exposure to experimentation, cohort analysis, or product usage analytics is preferred. The candidate should have at least 4 years of experience in banking, payment processing, or other financial technology, and 2 years of experience in B2B SaaS software or other subscription-based businesses. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary, with the ability to present data and its implications in a clear, concise manner, balancing technical and business perspectives. Demonstrated experience leveraging AI tools and technologies to improve workflows, enhance decision-making, or drive innovation is also required.
