As a Senior Data Engineer at Mozilla, you will be an integral part of the Data Engineering team, responsible for managing the entire data lifecycle. This includes ingesting and transforming raw data into reliable, high-quality models that empower Mozillians to make informed decisions. You will bridge the gap between technical systems and business needs, contributing to the development of a robust data platform that ensures data is accessible and trustworthy.

In this role, you will build and manage business data pipelines, transforming Firefox telemetry data into structured datasets. Collaborating with data scientists, product, and marketing teams, you will develop models and metrics that drive Mozilla's decisions. You will also monitor data quality using observability tools, participate in weekly triage rotations to resolve data issues, and partner with other engineers to enhance the data platform. Ensuring data governance and privacy policies are implemented across the vast amounts of data processed daily is also a key responsibility.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of professional experience in data engineering, with proficiency in SQL and Python. A strong foundation in data modeling, software engineering fundamentals, and self-directed execution is essential. Experience with cloud distributed systems, particularly Google Cloud Platform, and a collaborative spirit to work effectively with a distributed team across different time zones are also important. A commitment to Mozilla's values, including welcoming differences and practicing responsible participation, is expected.

Mozilla offers generous performance-based bonus plans, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, and substantial retirement contributions with immediate vesting. Employees enjoy quarterly wellness days, country-specific holidays plus a day off for their birthday, a one-time home office stipend, and annual professional development and well-being stipends. Considerable paid parental leave and an employee referral bonus program are also part of the benefits package.

Joining Mozilla means becoming part of a mission-driven organization dedicated to building the internet as a public resource accessible to all. With a focus on open-source software and a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, Mozilla provides a collaborative environment where your work can make a significant impact on the lives of web users worldwide.
