The Regulatory Technology (RegTech) team at DriveWealth is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to develop data products that support the Compliance organization in its supervisory reporting responsibilities and external regulatory requirements. This role involves automating data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and delivering high-quality data products to both internal and external stakeholders. The end products may include business intelligence reports, data marts, bulk raw data deliveries, or REST API endpoints.
Key responsibilities include creatively addressing compliance and regulatory needs, establishing unit and regression testing practices for continuous integration and deployment using declarative languages like YAML and Terraform, and collaborating with business partners, compliance, and product managers within an Agile framework. The role also involves fostering an open and scalable data culture through documentation, constructive code reviews, and clear communication of priorities and challenges. Additionally, the Senior Data Engineer will provide thought leadership on architecture and tooling, set standards for scalable data analytics solutions, and mentor analytics engineers and analysts.
The ideal candidate will have over five years of experience solving data problems with internal and external stakeholders, and at least three years of experience in data ingestion (CSV, JSON, REST), data transformation (DBT), and orchestrating data pipelines using tools like Databricks and/or Airflow. A minimum of two years of experience working with trading and/or regulatory reports, such as best execution, CAT, OATS, trade monitoring, EBS, and regulatory inquiries, is required. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, and Spark (PySpark, Spark SQL), as well as declarative languages like YAML and Terraform, is essential. Experience with databases including DynamoDB, Unity Catalog, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server is also necessary. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent program is required.
