The Senior Data Science Manager - Productivity at Canva will serve as the strategic data partner to Product and Engineering leads within the Productivity space. This role involves defining and owning the long-term measurement strategy for productivity workflows, collaboration, and AI-powered assistance, aiming to enhance user efficiency and effectiveness. The Productivity team focuses on developing features that make Canva an essential daily tool, including workflows, collaboration, and AI-powered assistance.
Key responsibilities include identifying significant growth opportunities and assisting the group in setting bold, data-informed goals. The manager will lead complex, multi-squad experimentation, ensuring robust decision frameworks are in place. Additionally, the role involves building clarity across interconnected surfaces by aligning metrics across editing, workflows, collaboration, and downstream impact. Coaching and growing senior data scientists while elevating strategic thinking and influence are also essential aspects of this position.
The ideal candidate will have experience as a senior data leader and trusted thought partner to Product leadership. They should possess a systems-thinking approach, connecting multiple product surfaces into a clear measurement strategy. Proficiency in SQL and experience with Python or R are required. The candidate should excel in simplifying complexity and aiding teams in making confident decisions. Experience in high-growth or zero-to-one product areas, as well as in collaboration tools, workflow automation, or AI-assisted productivity products, is highly desirable.
