Eikon Therapeutics is seeking a highly experienced Senior Director of Intellectual Property (IP) to lead the development and execution of our global IP strategy. Reporting to the Vice President of Intellectual Property and based in Millbrae, CA, this role involves overseeing a comprehensive IP portfolio that spans research, technology, and clinical development. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including scientists, engineers, and clinical experts, to build and protect high-value intellectual property assets, ensuring alignment with business priorities to maximize the value of our innovations while mitigating risk in a dynamic competitive landscape.

Key responsibilities include developing, implementing, and managing global IP portfolio strategies to maximize the value and strategic impact of IP assets for both current and future commercial opportunities. The role involves preparing and prosecuting patent applications, managing the annual patent portfolio, and optimizing the use of IP resources for maximum efficiency. Additionally, the Senior Director will perform freedom to operate and patentability searches, competitive landscape analyses, and due diligence work in support of R&D, CTO, and business development teams. Providing IP transactional support for business transactions, clinical agreements, collaborative research agreements, and license and acquisition agreements is also a critical aspect of this position.

The ideal candidate will possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree with over 10 years of intellectual property law experience, including significant in-house and/or law firm experience in the biopharmaceutical sector. They must be licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (active and in good standing) and have USPTO registration and eligibility to practice patent law. An advanced scientific degree (PhD preferred) in biological and/or chemical sciences is required. Strong global IP perspective, exceptional communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment are essential.

Eikon offers a competitive compensation package, including a salary range of $239,000 to $261,250, depending on skills, competency, and market demand.
