Senior Director, Intellectual Property (Legal)

The Senior Director, Intellectual Property at Corcept Therapeutics will lead the company's intellectual property initiatives, focusing on the small molecule portfolio. This role involves providing strategic counsel on patent law and overseeing trademarks, copyrights, and IP litigation. The position is based in Redwood City, CA, with an expectation of being onsite three days per week.

Key responsibilities include advising project teams on IP-related issues such as publication reviews and agreement negotiations. The role also involves managing patent preparation and prosecution, overseeing the IP portfolio, and conducting patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses. Additionally, the Senior Director will manage outside IP counsel and develop policies for IP disclosure and documentation.

Candidates must have at least 12 years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution, particularly in pharmaceutical small molecule matters. A J.D. from a respected U.S. law school is required, along with active membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state bar and admission to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. A Master's or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or a related field is preferred.

The compensation for this position ranges from $265,200 to $312,000 annually, depending on factors such as location, experience, and education.
