Senior Frontend Engineer
ClearScore Technology Limited is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to join their agile delivery team responsible for building capabilities that enable new user experiences using the latest technologies. The role involves working within an established, cross-functional squad focused on developing the company's design system, logged-out website, and other cutting-edge technologies. ClearScore is a leading credit score and report app with over 20 million users globally, operating in the UK, South Africa, Australia, and Canada.
The Senior Frontend Engineer will design, build, and maintain full-stack solutions using Node.js and TypeScript, delivering data-driven user interfaces and backend services. Responsibilities include building intuitive client UX utilizing design systems and server-driven UI frameworks, optimizing and scaling databases for large-scale applications, and collaborating with colleagues to implement, monitor, and optimize real-time data pipelines with Kafka. The role also involves taking ownership of end-to-end performance optimization, leading the deployment and maintenance of production-grade code and databases across multiple global markets, and monitoring post-release performance to ensure system reliability.
Candidates should have expert knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and TypeScript, along with strong experience in React and SSR frameworks such as React Router 7 Framework or Next.js. Proficiency in building services using Node.js and technologies like Fastify or Express.js is required. A strong attention to UI consistency, accessibility, and visual detail is essential, as is a solid understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility. Familiarity with design systems and headless CMS platforms like Contentful is advantageous. The role also requires experience with unit and functional testing tools such as Jest and React Testing Library, knowledge of build tools like Webpack or Vite, and a desire to mentor junior team members and share knowledge across the team.
