Senior iOS Engineer — Mobile Workflows
Canva is seeking a Senior iOS Engineer to join the Mobile Workflows team, which focuses on enhancing mobile development tooling, automation testing pipelines, and quality strategies across the organization. This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliability and scalability of Canva's mobile products, enabling numerous product and platform teams to build confidently for iOS.
In this position, you will be responsible for building and maintaining iOS-specific development tools, including simulator setups, device orchestration, and command-line interfaces. You will develop and enhance mobile test automation frameworks for synthetic and integration testing on iOS, design and implement CI/CD quality gating with automation tests to proactively detect regressions, and collaborate with various teams to unify mobile workflows into a cohesive system. Additionally, you will contribute to defining and improving mobile testing best practices and support the creation of company-wide triage workflows and monitoring for mobile development and testing.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in computer science and software engineering practices, with proven expertise in modern iOS development, including a deep understanding of Swift, concurrency, and reactive programming. Experience with cross-platform testing frameworks and familiarity with test automation patterns are essential. Knowledge of CI/CD systems, build pipelines, and mobile development tooling, such as Fastlane and Gradle, is required. Experience with device farm solutions like BrowserStack or similar cloud device testing platforms is a plus, as is familiarity with cross-platform or hybrid development approaches like React Native or web-to-native bridges. The ability to navigate ambiguity and develop optimal technical solutions independently, along with attention to detail and strategic thinking in writing reusable and testable code, is highly valued.
