Senior IT Platform Engineer
Beast Industries, the company behind MrBeast, Feastables, Beast Games, and Step, is seeking a Senior IT Platform Engineer to join their team in San Mateo, California. This role focuses on unifying identity and application lifecycle management across the company's diverse portfolio. The position reports directly to the Director of IT and requires on-site presence four days a week at Step's San Mateo office.
As a Senior IT Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and operating automated processes for user onboarding, department changes, offboarding, and multi-factor authentication enrollment, all driven by HRIS events across multiple payroll and HR platforms. You will manage the application lifecycle by onboarding, integrating, maintaining, and decommissioning apps across a vast inventory of SaaS applications, ensuring SSO and SCIM coverage, including a multi-workspace Slack environment. Additionally, you will engineer identity automation, manage groups, group rules, and sign-on and authentication policies, and build automation to maintain system integrity. Serving as the primary engineer for Step, you will oversee integrations, maintain production systems, and address any issues between Step and Beast. Documentation responsibilities include maintaining runbooks, architecture diagrams, and knowledge base articles, ensuring an accurate application inventory.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in identity and application lifecycle management, with a strong background in SAML, SCIM, and SSO configurations. Proficiency in scripting and automation is essential, as is the ability to work within a dual-instance architecture that isolates regulated fintech systems. Experience with SaaS application management and a solid understanding of HRIS-driven provisioning processes are also important. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are crucial for success in this role.
