Senior Java Engineer (f/m/x)
As a Senior Java Engineer at AUTO1 Group, you will play a pivotal role in revolutionizing the automotive industry by developing cutting-edge tools and applications. This position focuses on the consumer financing area of our retail website, Autohero, where you will take ownership of applications to ensure they meet the highest quality standards and deliver exceptional value to our clients. As part of a remote-first team, you will have the opportunity to propose and lead innovative solutions that address both technical and business challenges.
Your primary responsibilities will include architecting, developing, shipping, monitoring, and maintaining services throughout the entire software development life cycle within our service-oriented platform, which currently comprises over 300 restful microservices. You will utilize your hands-on experience and proactive attitude to solve complex problems, drive technological innovations to keep AUTO1 at the forefront of the industry, lead by example to mentor team members, and collaborate with various engineering and product teams to uphold our high business standards.
The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of professional experience in Java programming with Spring-based technologies, a solid understanding of the Java Virtual Machine (JVM), and strong experience in building robust and scalable RESTful APIs and GraphQL services. Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, Terraform, and AWS services is essential. A solid technical background with a strong grasp of computer science fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems is required. Additionally, curiosity and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new and unfamiliar technologies, frameworks, and paradigms are highly valued. Experience in developing APIs for mobile applications is a plus, along with good communication skills in English.
