Senior Manager, Human Resources
Lila Sciences is seeking a Senior Human Resources Manager to join our HR Business Partner team at our San Francisco office. In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor to managers and client groups, leading the execution of core people programs and fostering a strong, consistent culture as the organization scales. This position offers the opportunity to work with meaningful independence and to shape how HR programs operate on the ground, with potential for growth into a broader strategic advisory capacity over time.
Key responsibilities include partnering with assigned managers to provide hands-on HR guidance on talent management, employee relations, performance management, and team effectiveness. You will coach managers on people leadership, navigate difficult conversations, and support team development. Additionally, you will lead the execution of core HR programs such as performance review cycles, compensation planning, and engagement initiatives. Serving as the on-site HR presence, you will support employee-facing touchpoints including onboarding, offboarding, and in-person HR needs, while managing operational HR processes specific to the California office.
The ideal candidate will have 7–9 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in an HR Business Partner, HR generalist, or client-facing HR role. Experience handling HR operational tasks including onboarding administration, I-9 compliance, and new hire processes is essential. Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with managers and leaders across an organization, along with strong knowledge of core HR disciplines including performance management and employment law fundamentals, is required. Familiarity with California employment law is a plus. The candidate should also have experience coaching managers through complex or sensitive people situations with minimal oversight and be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment where priorities shift quickly.
