Senior Product Counsel, AI Data Services & Dasher Tasks
DoorDash is seeking an experienced Senior Product Counsel to join its dynamic legal team, focusing on AI Data Services and Dasher Tasks within the Dasher Logistics organization. This role offers the opportunity to provide legal guidance on a wide range of issues, including worker classification, AI and data governance, privacy, consumer protection, intellectual property, and regulatory matters. The position is available in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, Chicago, New York, Washington D.C., or remotely within the United States.
In this role, you will collaborate with product managers, operators, engineers, and data scientists to provide solution-oriented legal advice from the initial stages of project development to launch. You will independently develop practical guidance on complex legal issues and work closely with other members of the legal team to ensure holistic and effective legal support across disciplines. Additionally, you will build playbooks and establish processes to help scale legal advice within the team.
The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of legal experience, preferably in an in-house legal department, and be authorized to practice law in the U.S. state where they are located. A business-first mentality, strong legal judgment, and the ability to make decisions in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment are essential. Experience in product counseling, the tech industry, or the on-demand economy is highly desirable. Familiarity with AI/ML development, data licensing, intellectual property, and privacy laws is also beneficial.
Compensation for this role includes a base salary ranging from $214,200 to $315,000, determined based on job-related factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. In addition to the base salary, the compensation package includes opportunities for equity grants.
