Lila Sciences is seeking an experienced Senior Research Associate specializing in Protein Purification, Analytics, and Developability to support the development and operation of a high-throughput protein characterization platform. This role is integral to advancing Lila's Scientific Superintelligence platform by executing and optimizing biophysical characterization workflows, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the generation of high-quality, reproducible data.

The successful candidate will be responsible for executing and optimizing high-throughput workflows for protein characterization across various modalities, including antibodies, bi-specifics, and enzymes. Key responsibilities include operating and maintaining automated chromatography systems such as Size Exclusion Chromatography (SEC), Hydrophobic Interaction Chromatography (HIC), and affinity chromatography using HPLC platforms. Additionally, the role involves performing biophysical characterization techniques like Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), Differential Scanning Fluorimetry (DSF), binding assays (BLI/SPR), and capillary electrophoresis (CE-SDS, cIEF) to assess critical quality attributes of proteins. The candidate will also support workflows to characterize protein post-translational modifications (PTMs) and collaborate with scientists, engineers, and automation experts to enhance the efficiency and scalability of developability workflows.

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, or a related discipline, with 2-5+ years of hands-on experience in protein production and characterization. Proven experience with HPLC techniques such as SEC, HIC, and affinity purification methods is essential. Familiarity with biophysical characterization techniques, experience with liquid handling automation and high-throughput formats, and proficiency in laboratory data analysis and digital recordkeeping are also required. Strong troubleshooting skills, adaptability, and the ability to drive innovation in experimental design are crucial. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset are necessary to thrive in Lila's fast-paced, cross-functional team environment.

Lila Sciences offers competitive base compensation with bonus potential and generous early-stage equity. The expected base salary range for this position is $80,000 to $118,000 USD.
