Senior Security Engineer - Detection & Response

As a Senior Security Engineer at Canva, you will play a pivotal role in the Detection & Response team, focusing on safeguarding the company's cloud-native infrastructure. This position offers flexibility in work location, allowing you to operate from any of Canva's Australian campuses or remotely.

Your primary responsibilities will include leading incident response coordination, investigating and triaging security alerts, and developing automation workflows to streamline security operations. You will collaborate closely with teams such as Cyber Threat Intelligence, Application Security, and Red Team to translate emerging threats into actionable detection and response strategies.

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in incident response, digital forensics, or security operations, with a proven track record in managing security events from detection through resolution. Proficiency with enterprise security platforms like SIEM, EDR, and SOAR, as well as scripting languages such as Python or Go, is essential. A solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform/Ansible) is also required.
