Senior Security Engineer - Incident Response
Canva is seeking a Senior Security Engineer specializing in Incident Response to join our dynamic Security Group. This role is integral to safeguarding Canva's cloud-native infrastructure and data, ensuring the trust and safety of our global user base. The position is based in our London campus, situated around the vibrant Hoxton Square in Shoreditch, offering a collaborative and flexible work environment.
As a Senior Security Engineer, you will lead the coordination of incident response efforts, acting as the primary escalation point for security incidents across our AWS, GCP, and hybrid environments. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include monitoring and investigating security threats, proactively hunting for anomalous behavior, and developing detection rules and automation workflows using detection-as-code methodologies. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining comprehensive incident response documentation, leading post-incident reviews, and producing detailed incident reports.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in incident response and security operations, with a strong knowledge of cloud security architectures and attack techniques. Hands-on experience with cloud providers such as AWS, GCP, or Azure is essential. Proficiency with endpoint detection and response (EDR) platforms, an investigative mindset capable of leveraging OSINT techniques, and the ability to solve complex security problems are crucial. Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills are also required.
