Senior Site Reliability Engineer
Censys is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our Infrastructure and Operations platform team. This role focuses on designing, building, and deploying tools that empower our development teams and enhance the reliability of our production applications. As a fully remote position within the United States, the SRE will play a pivotal role in advancing our operational maturity and mastering cloud-native technologies to support our microservice architecture.
The Senior SRE will be responsible for building and maintaining tooling to support applications in Kubernetes and Google Cloud Platform. Collaborating closely with development teams, the SRE will facilitate the building, shipping, and deployment of services and applications, promoting service resilience and reliability. The role also includes ensuring smooth operations of production environments, assisting developers in debugging complex issues, and creating a self-service platform to accelerate developer velocity. Participation in a shared on-call rotation schedule is expected to maintain infrastructure environments and ensure primary site uptime.
Candidates should have over five years of experience in an SRE role or similar, with expertise in deploying, managing, and debugging applications in Kubernetes environments. Experience with Helm and Crossplane for application deployment, building and securing container images, and working with cloud-based environments such as CloudSQL databases and Pub/Sub is essential. Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or Crossplane, monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana, and CI/CD systems like GitHub Actions or ArgoCD is required. Strong communication skills and the ability to support developers empathetically are also important.
The target salary range for this role is between $145,000 and $190,000 USD annually, with additional bonus eligibility and equity options. Benefits effective on day one include a 401(k) match, health, vision, and dental insurance, among others.
