Senior Software Backend Engineer
Box is seeking a Senior Software Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team in Warsaw, Poland. As a leader in Intelligent Content Management, Box enables organizations to collaborate, manage content lifecycles, and transform workflows with enterprise AI. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-scale, distributed systems that impact thousands of enterprise customers daily.
In this position, you will develop new backend features focused on scalability and performance, design and implement auto-scaling solutions for microservices, and address challenges related to distributed systems at scale. Your responsibilities will also include measuring system performance, identifying bottlenecks, optimizing accordingly, and building internal tools to support testing automation, deployment pipelines, and product support. Collaboration with cross-functional teams across geographies and active participation in Agile ceremonies are key aspects of this role.
The ideal candidate has over 5 years of professional software development experience, is proficient in Java, and familiar with scripting languages like Python, Scala, or PHP. Experience working within Linux environments, comfort with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP, and knowledge of container orchestration technologies like Kubernetes are essential. Strong communication skills, a passion for learning new technologies, and fluency in English are also required.
