Senior Software Engineer, Finance Technology (Remote)
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Finance Technology team at ezCater, you will play a pivotal role in transforming the company's financial technology platform. This position involves designing and implementing a modern tech stack that integrates existing software solutions with AI-enabled tools, ensuring efficient and compliant financial transactions for customers and restaurant partners. Key areas of focus include credit card processing, invoicing, payouts, and tax calculations.
In this role, you will lead the development of services and features that drive the evolution of the finance tech stack, collaborating closely with Staff Engineers and Product teams. Responsibilities encompass balancing quality and speed in delivering customer-impacting features, mentoring developing engineers, and contributing to engineering excellence across the organization. Participation in an on-call rotation is also expected to maintain system reliability.
The ideal candidate possesses over five years of professional development experience, particularly in backend technologies and building services using languages such as Go, Ruby on Rails, or Java. Proficiency in designing and consuming APIs (REST or GraphQL) and working knowledge of relational SQL databases like PostgreSQL are essential. Experience with payment-processing systems, integration with modern payment service providers, and a strong understanding of payment lifecycles and compliance considerations are highly valued. A quality mindset, including adherence to security best practices and CI/CD fundamentals, is crucial.
The national total target cash compensation range for this position, including base salary and bonus target, is $158,000 - $190,000 annually.
