Senior Software Engineer, Frontend
Lila Sciences is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a frontend specialty to join our software group in San Francisco, CA. In this role, you will design, build, and optimize user interfaces and services that power intelligent, data-driven applications. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a cutting-edge AI platform with real scientific impact.
Key responsibilities include designing and building high-performance, secure, and well-documented UIs and APIs that integrate with AI-driven applications. You will develop schemas and manage diverse data systems for optimal performance and scalability. Additionally, you will drive the implementation of frontend and backend services, focusing on performance, maintainability, and reliability. Collaborating with ML researchers, engineers, and scientists, you will integrate data pipelines, APIs, and cloud infrastructure into scientific workflows.
The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with 2-6 years of engineering experience building and deploying large-scale systems in production. Strong experience with React and TypeScript is required, along with proficiency in Python. Expertise in SQL, NoSQL, and emerging database technologies, as well as proven ability to design and scale RESTful or GraphQL APIs, is essential. Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants to drive productivity is also required.
