Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack)
GoFundMe is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This role focuses on implementing our campaign experiences, requiring expertise in full stack development and a strong aptitude for building dynamic web applications. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in transforming designs and mockups into scalable, fault-tolerant, and seamless user experiences.
In this position, you will analyze, design, and develop software that delivers clean, maintainable code within a large, complex code base. You will contribute to the evolution of our technical infrastructure through microservices, collaborate with experienced developers to design new features, and re-architect existing ones. Operating within an Agile environment, you will work as part of a Scrum team to develop web-based software solutions and mentor engineers in best software development practices.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience, along with over five years of professional software development experience in web development. High-level proficiency with React, JavaScript ES6, TypeScript, Node.js, and HTML/CSS is essential. Familiarity with GraphQL, Elasticsearch, Docker, and AWS services such as EC2, ECS, Lambda, and SNS is also required. The ability to understand product requirements and translate them into technical tasks, experience with Scrum/Agile methodologies, and deep experience with code versioning tools like Git or Bitbucket are necessary. A strong understanding of distributed software architecture and experience debugging distributed systems with high data loads are important, as is experience working with remote and offshore teams.
Preferred qualifications include experience building PCI compliant systems, working with Next.js, design systems, eCommerce platforms, PHP and Laravel, and proficiency in schema design in relational or NoSQL databases such as MySQL or MongoDB. Proficiency with microfrontend or microservices architecture is also advantageous.
