Senior Software Engineer
IEX is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic team in New York City. As a key member of our technology division, you will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining the core systems that power our high-performance stock exchange. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment dedicated to creating equitable and transparent financial markets.
In this role, you will collaborate with technology and operations teams to design and implement solutions for the exchange. Your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining C++ application frameworks, messaging APIs, and data structures, ensuring application reliability and recovery mechanisms. You will manage the software development lifecycle, encompassing build, deployment, packaging, and dependency management stages. Additionally, you will contribute to systems such as order entry, market data, post-trade processes, system monitoring, and reporting, while assisting Market Operations and Technology Operations teams in troubleshooting production issues.
The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of professional experience with C++ in a low-latency environment. Proficiency in Java development processes, including build tools, continuous integration, automated testing, and deployment, is essential. Experience with electronic trading systems, specifically the FIX Protocol, market data feeds, and post-trade handling, is required. A strong background in Linux is also necessary. Additional experience with Java, KDB+, Python, Shell, or other scripting languages is advantageous.
