Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure
Engine is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its central infrastructure team, which underpins all product teams at Engine. This role offers the opportunity to influence the foundational systems that support Engine's diverse business verticals, including business travel, group travel, human agents, and AI agents. In this position, you will be responsible for designing and implementing cloud infrastructure solutions, particularly within AWS environments. Your work will involve creating and maintaining Terraform modules, establishing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, and developing operational tools that enhance system reliability and observability. Additionally, you will focus on security and networking aspects, including Cloudflare configurations and IAM boundaries, as well as cost visibility through tooling and reporting.
The ideal candidate will have over six years of experience in building and operating production cloud infrastructure, with deep expertise in AWS services such as multi-account setups, networking, IAM, and security boundaries. Proficiency in Terraform, including designing reusable modules, is essential. A strong background in CI/CD practices, particularly with GitHub Actions, is also required. Experience in developing platform infrastructure that is widely adopted by feature teams is highly valued.
Compensation for this role includes a competitive base salary ranging from $135,150 to $187,000 USD, with additional equity components.
