Senior Software Engineer (Localization)
Mozilla Corporation is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its Localization Team, which manages the infrastructure powering localization across all Mozilla products and services. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to projects like moz-l10n and Pontoon, Mozilla's Django-based Translation Management System, and to work on internationalization features that enhance the user experience of Firefox and other Mozilla products.
Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining Python and JavaScript libraries and tools that support Mozilla's localization infrastructure, improving localization and internationalization within the Firefox codebase, designing and implementing new Pontoon features in collaboration with engineers and program managers, and engaging with the community of volunteer developers and localizers to support Mozilla's localization efforts. The role also involves effective collaboration with teammates and internal clients across regions and time zones.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience developing and maintaining libraries and tools using Python and JavaScript, a solid understanding of web technologies, APIs, and modern development workflows, and experience with open source development practices and community collaboration. The ability to collaborate effectively in a distributed team, excellent communication skills, and professional fluency in English are essential.
