The Firefox Monitor Engineering Team at Mozilla is dedicated to developing tools that help users understand and respond to data breaches. By notifying users when their credentials appear in exposed datasets, the team empowers individuals to take control of their online privacy. Operating at scale and serving millions globally, the team's work intersects security, data privacy, and product engineering.

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Firefox Monitor team, you will lead backend development in Node.js and TypeScript, building and maintaining server-side logic within a Next.js full-stack architecture. Your responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining integrations with external data sources, such as Have I Been Pwned (HIBP), with a focus on data privacy and security. Additionally, you will build and maintain event-driven systems using Google Cloud Pub/Sub and manage cloud infrastructure on GCP (GKE) and AWS (S3, SES).

The role requires a minimum of 7 years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on backend technologies. Deep expertise in Node.js and TypeScript is essential, along with proficiency in PostgreSQL and SQL query optimization. Experience deploying and operating applications on Kubernetes, as well as familiarity with GCP and AWS services, is also required. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across engineering, product, and operations teams are crucial.
