Senior Software Engineer - Native Video Engine (China)
The Senior Software Engineer - Native Video Engine position at Canva involves joining a dynamic team dedicated to building robust, high-performance video functionalities for Canva’s creative platform. Daily tasks include writing efficient code, optimizing performance for real-time video editing, collaborating with product managers and designers, and proactively addressing technical challenges encountered during the development lifecycle. Regular code reviews, technical planning sessions, and the provision of mentorship to junior engineers are also key components of this role.
Candidates for this position should possess a strong background in C++ software development, preferably with experience in video processing or multimedia frameworks. A track record of developing and shipping high-quality software on cross-platform environments is essential. Familiarity with low-level performance engineering, debugging complex systems, and working in collaborative, agile development teams is highly regarded. Proficiency in English and Mandarin is desirable due to the team’s cross-regional nature.
