Senior Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails)
Diligent Corporation is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Ruby on Rails to join their Budapest, Hungary office. This role involves designing, building, and evolving secure, scalable, and high-performing SaaS applications and services. In this position, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining Ruby on Rails features and services, ensuring they align with Diligent's agile engineering practices. You will oversee technical delivery for projects, including solution design, implementation planning, and execution through to production. Collaboration with cross-functional teams such as Product, QA, DevOps, and Security is essential to ensure smooth delivery of working software into production.
Candidates should have over five years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong focus on building web applications and services. Proficiency in Ruby on Rails and experience delivering production-grade backend or full-stack applications are required. A solid understanding of microservices or service-oriented architectures and the trade-offs involved in distributed systems is essential. Familiarity with source control systems such as Git and GitHub, along with common collaboration and branching workflows, is also necessary.
