Senior Specialist, Clinical Business Operations
MapLight Therapeutics is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Specialist in Clinical Business Operations to join our team in Burlington, MA. This role reports to the Executive Director of Clinical Operations and is pivotal in supporting all aspects of clinical business operations, including vendor selection, contract management, budget oversight, and performance metrics. The ideal candidate will streamline operational procedures across multiple projects to enhance timelines and data organization.
Key responsibilities include managing the Request for Proposal (RFP) process by collaborating with Clinical Trial Managers and Clinical Scientific Leads to develop outsourcing strategies, customizing RFP templates for each study, and coordinating vendor communications. The role also involves leading discussions with vendors and internal teams to develop study budgets, forecasting site contract review timelines, and ensuring all executed site contracts are properly filed. Additionally, the Senior Specialist will assist in developing effective clinical contractual agreements and actively manage other clinical financial obligations.
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences, Finance, or Business Administration, along with a minimum of 3 years of experience in clinical trial outsourcing, vendor negotiations, or operations management. Preferred experience includes working within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry at a CRO or sponsor company. Strong analytical skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and excellent written and oral communication abilities are essential. Flexibility and adaptability to changing project priorities and deadlines are also required.
Compensation for this role ranges from $115,000 to $135,000 annually, with additional benefits including an annual bonus opportunity, medical, dental, vision, life and AD&D insurance, short-term and long-term disability coverage, a 401(K) plan with match, stock options, flexible non-accrual paid time off, and parental leave.
