Social-first Video Content Designer

Canva is seeking a Social-first Video Content Designer to join their Content Studio team, focusing on creating high-quality video assets, animations, and motion graphics for Canva's extensive content library. This role is integral to developing templates, storyboards, learning materials, character packs, and animated scenes that enhance the user experience and storytelling capabilities within the platform.

Key responsibilities include designing and animating video assets, motion graphics, transitions, and storytelling elements; creating looping animations and narrative-driven sequences; collaborating with template designers to ensure seamless integration into user workflows; working with product teams to understand and showcase new motion features; maintaining high levels of craft while producing scalable content; participating in creative reviews and experimentation cycles; and staying updated with animation trends and visual storytelling techniques.

The ideal candidate is motion-obsessed and skilled in animation, timing, pacing, and visual storytelling; comfortable working across multiple styles; excited to create assets that empower others to tell their stories; inspired by the challenge of simplifying professional-level motion for everyday users; curious about the evolving world of motion design, film language, and mixed-media visuals; and collaborative, autonomous, and comfortable working in fast-paced content production environments.
