Software Engineer - Advanced Development
Voyager Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer for Advanced Development to join our Advanced Technologies Group, which is at the forefront of defining the company's future in critical space and defense markets. This hands-on role focuses on the design, integration, and qualification of complex software systems, emphasizing high-velocity design and technical leadership for in-space computing systems. The engineer will provide technical direction and collaborate closely with other engineering functions to ensure that electrical system architectures meet performance, safety, and mission assurance standards.
Key responsibilities include creating software requirements, functional, and design specification documents, as well as designing and documenting software test plans. The role involves developing, modifying, and maintaining applications and board-support software. The engineer will collaborate with the hardware-engineering team to design hardware-software interfaces for components and implement the corresponding device drivers. Additionally, the position requires participation in testing and troubleshooting of software, along with providing verbal and written status updates toward project goals.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, along with over seven years of experience in software development with an emphasis on embedded systems. Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government clearance is required. Experience with embedded processors and microcontrollers such as ARM, PowerPC, x86, TI-DSP, and 8051 is essential. Proficiency with embedded Linux, Linux kernel internals, VxWorks, and cross-platform development tools is also necessary. Familiarity with low-level programming in C or C++, as well as experience with interface buses and protocols used in embedded systems, is expected.
The position offers a competitive base salary range of $135,000 to $185,000 per year, depending on experience, skills, and location.
