Software Engineering Intern, Orders

is seeking a Software Engineering Intern to join our Orders team in London. This team is responsible for developing and maintaining the services and APIs that facilitate the buying, selling, and swapping of cryptocurrencies for millions of users worldwide. As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience in building scalable and secure trading systems within a fast-paced, innovative environment.

In this role, you will support the development of APIs that enable crypto trading across products. Your day-to-day tasks will include building and maintaining distributed backend systems using Kotlin and PostgreSQL, improving the scalability and performance of our order execution systems, participating in code reviews, testing, debugging, and collaborating with engineers and product managers to deliver high-impact features. Additionally, you will gain exposure to reactive architectures, event-driven systems, and message queues such as Kafka.

The ideal candidate should have basic proficiency in a JVM-based language, preferably Java or Kotlin, and an understanding of REST APIs and common backend concepts. Familiarity with relational databases like PostgreSQL is important, along with enthusiasm for building scalable systems and a curiosity about the crypto industry. A collaborative mindset, good communication skills, and eagerness to learn are essential.

This is a 6-month internship based in our London office, with a mandatory in-office presence four days per week.
