Software Support Engineer

Eurofins is seeking a Software Support Engineer to join our team in Auckland, New Zealand. This role involves providing technical support and developing new features for our company's IT systems. Eurofins Scientific is a global leader in life sciences, offering a unique range of analytical testing services across multiple industries. Our Food and Water Testing division in New Zealand operates laboratories in several locations, including Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch, specializing in testing various food types, plants, soils, fertilizers, and water sources.

As a Software Support Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include analyzing support requests to identify software solutions, troubleshooting and resolving software defects and technical issues, designing, coding, testing, and debugging software applications, participating in code reviews to enhance code quality and best practices, and writing and maintaining clear, concise documentation for software applications.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field, or have multiple years of experience in software support and development. Proficiency in SQL,.NET (C#), and VB Scripting is essential. Familiarity with team development practices and version control systems, such as Azure DevOps, is also required. Strong problem-solving skills, clean coding practices, good communication skills, and a customer-focused approach to supporting end-users are crucial for success in this role.
