Software Test Engineer
Arista Networks is seeking a Software Test Engineer to join our dynamic team dedicated to delivering high-quality networking products. In this role, you will collaborate closely with developers, embedding within the development team to identify and resolve issues before they reach our customers. Our approach emphasizes proactive testing over repetitive manual regressions, focusing on understanding customer use cases to ensure our products perform reliably in real-world scenarios.
Your primary responsibilities will include designing and executing comprehensive test plans to validate Arista's features and products. This involves creating test network topologies to assess functionality, performance, stability, and scalability. You'll work in an agile environment, participating in short development cycles to produce functional software iterations. Additionally, you'll contribute to the development of automated tests and provide customer-centric input during functional specification and software design reviews.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in developing test methodologies and writing test plans. A strong understanding of networking protocols such as Ethernet, VLANs, IP Routing, and various L2-L3 protocols is essential. Experience with test tools like IXIA or Spirent, familiarity with test automation tools and scripting languages, and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering with at least three years of experience are required. Strong communication skills are also vital for this role.
Arista offers a competitive base salary ranging from $95,000 to $145,000, depending on factors such as skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition to base pay, certain roles may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and equity.
