Solar Field Technician
The Solar Field Technician at Arevon is responsible for maintaining and operating utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) power plants. Reporting directly to the project Site Manager in Las Vegas, NV, this role involves monitoring plant operations through SCADA systems and ensuring optimal performance of solar PV systems, including inverters, module arrays, transformers, switchgear, trackers, and metering systems. The technician will also supervise contractors to ensure safe, high-quality, and timely maintenance activities.
Key responsibilities include performing corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance on solar PV systems, conducting onsite installations and repairs, and troubleshooting electrical components. The technician will carry out root cause analyses on major and recurring faults, prepare technical reports, and collaborate with internal teams to produce data for regulatory reporting. Additionally, the role involves creating and following operating, switching, maintenance, safety, and environmental procedures, as well as managing work orders and procurement documentation.
Required qualifications include a minimum of 3 years of direct experience as a PV solar technician or 6 years in a non-solar electrical maintenance role. Candidates must possess excellent writing and verbal skills, a valid U.S. driver's license with an acceptable MVR history, and strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical colleagues and vendors. The role requires wearing personal protective equipment and the flexibility to work nights, overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
