Sr. Legal Counsel, International Public Sector
Databricks is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to support its expanding business with government institutions across EMEA and other international markets. This role involves navigating complex public sector transactions, ensuring compliance with international procurement rules, and advising on legal and regulatory matters in the evolving cloud and AI landscape. The position is based in Paris, France, and reports to the Director, Assistant General Counsel.
Key responsibilities include leading the negotiation and drafting of customer agreements with government and public sector institutions, advising on procurement rules and regulations impacting public sector sales, guiding compliance with international data privacy and cybersecurity regulations, coordinating with policy and compliance teams to monitor changes in international laws, partnering with cross-functional teams to enable successful market entry and execution across international jurisdictions, and supporting bid protests, contract disputes, and other public sector legal matters.
The ideal candidate will have a law degree and be qualified to practice in at least one jurisdiction in the EU, with over 10 years of legal experience focusing on public sector transactions and government contracting across international markets. A deep understanding of global public procurement rules, international contracting practices, data privacy, and cybersecurity regulations is essential. Fluency in English, French, and Italian (spoken and written) is required, and experience transacting in Arabic is highly preferred.
