Sr. Project Design Technologist - AEI
The Sr. Project Design Technologist at CannonDesign is a pivotal role focused on integrating advanced digital technologies into complex Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) projects. This position emphasizes the strategic application of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) to enhance project outcomes. The role is remote within the U.S., with a preference for candidates located in or near Minneapolis, MN; Rochester, MN; St. Louis, MO; or Chicago, IL.
Key responsibilities include partnering with project leadership, clients, and consultants to define and lead project-specific digital strategies encompassing BIM, VDC, data management, and technology integration from pursuit through delivery. The technologist will lead the development and review of contractual and digital deliverables, including BIM Execution Plans, and will identify and own project digital requirements, such as BIM strategies, data exchange protocols, advanced model delivery, and digitally enabled workflows. Additionally, the role involves establishing and overseeing model management frameworks for large or complex programs, leading digital coordination meetings, and ensuring software lifecycle compatibility and data exchange strategies.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Design Technology, or a related field, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the digital realm of the A/E/C industry. Prior experience in BIM management and VDC coordination for large programs or projects is preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational abilities, and experience in training others in the design, delivery, and use of BIM are essential. Technical proficiency in model authoring tools like Revit, analysis tools like Insight 360, Dynamo, and review tools like Navisworks, Bluebeam, Revizto, Enscape, and other design applications is required. Knowledge of the Revit API is preferred but not mandatory.
The salary range for this position is $106,300 to $132,900 annually. Employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
