Staff Accountant, Revenue Operations
Strongpoint Partners is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant to join our Finance team in Chicago. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606, preparing and reviewing monthly revenue accruals, and reconciling revenue accounts during the monthly close process. You will monitor and analyze accounts receivable aging reports, collaborate with internal teams to address outstanding balances, and review billing activity to ensure completeness and accuracy of invoicing. Additionally, you will support partners and internal stakeholders during transitions from QuickBooks to Sage, ensuring accurate revenue setup and reporting.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, along with at least three years of progressive accounting experience, including direct exposure to revenue accounting. A strong knowledge of ASC 606 and revenue recognition principles is essential. Experience with Sage or a comparable ERP/accounting system is highly preferred, as well as advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, along with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy, are crucial for success in this role.
The anticipated pay range for this position is $80,000 to $90,000 annually. Our total compensation package includes base pay plus a comprehensive benefits package.
