Staff Forward Deployed Engineer, Life Sciences
Lila Sciences is seeking exceptionally talented Forward Deployed Engineers to join our expanding team. As an FDE, you will work closely with both internal biotech and science teams and external clients, immersing yourself in their challenges to rapidly develop solutions that enhance their research capabilities. This role involves leveraging our AI and software platforms to create customized features that address each client's unique needs, delivering high-impact engineering solutions at an accelerated pace.
In this position, you will be responsible for developing and adapting domain-specific tools for molecular modeling, data analysis, and process optimization. You will deploy custom scientific workflows that integrate with industrial instruments and data systems, build real-time data pipelines to transform complex scientific data into actionable insights, and create intuitive interfaces that make advanced AI/ML capabilities accessible to scientists. Additionally, you will architect solutions that scale from proof-of-concept to enterprise-wide deployment.
The ideal candidate will have a background in biology, molecular science, or a related field, along with outstanding communication skills to effectively interact with both executives and operational staff. Experience with data engineering, ETL pipelines, and managing complex datasets is essential. Strong full-stack development skills across backend, frontend, and data layers, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and a knack for product discovery are also required. A willingness to travel to customer sites for frequent and extended deployments is necessary.
We offer a competitive base salary ranging from $192,000 to $256,000 USD, along with bonus potential and generous early-stage equity.
