Mozilla is seeking a Staff Security Engineer to join its Incident Response team, dedicated to monitoring and mitigating attacks across Mozilla’s products and services. This role is integral to maintaining the integrity of Mozilla's offerings and ensuring user safety within a company committed to building a more secure internet.

The Staff Security Engineer will identify and respond to security incidents on a global scale, acting as an incident commander to drive incidents through the entire response lifecycle. Responsibilities include designing and maintaining security alerts, automated actions, playbooks, and escalation workflows to support a high-performing 24/7 incident response capability. The role also involves conducting threat hunting activities, researching threat intelligence reports, and partnering with key stakeholders to maintain a continuously improving feedback loop of preparation, identification, analysis, containment, and post-mortem activities.

Candidates should have over 5 years of experience managing security incidents at a global scale and/or working in Security Operations Centers (SOC), Product Security Incident Response Teams (PSIRT), or Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRT). Expertise with security information and event management (SIEM) systems, such as ELK, Google BigQuery, or Splunk, is required, with a preference for Splunk proficiency. Experience with integrating and leveraging threat intelligence for detection engineering, as well as with security orchestration and automation (SOAR) platforms like Tines or Splunk SOAR, is also essential. Strong communication and leadership skills are necessary to effectively partner with diverse company stakeholders. Practical experience with cloud technologies, including Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, Heroku, or Microsoft Azure, is beneficial.
