Staff Software Engineer - Global KYC and Onboarding

The company is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the Global KYC and Onboarding squad within the Servicing department. This team is responsible for developing and maintaining the infrastructure that enables Wise to expand its services globally while ensuring compliance and safety for customers.

In this role, the Staff Software Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Business Onboarding Verification, Personal Onboarding Verification, and Wise Platform Verification. The primary focus will be on building and scaling the Onboarding Platform, which involves designing and implementing end-to-end FinCrime controls, automating processes using in-house machine learning and external vendors, and enhancing the user experience for both customers and internal stakeholders.

Candidates should have over 10 years of software engineering experience, with significant expertise in Java or other JVM-based languages. A minimum of 2 years in architecting large-scale systems is required, along with a proven ability to develop domain-driven technical solutions that scale with business growth. Strong leadership skills, including mentoring junior engineers and guiding senior engineers, are essential. Effective communication skills are necessary to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
