Staff Software Engineer (Ticketing & Events)
GoFundMe is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the development of the GoFundMe Pro Live ticketing and events platform. This role involves guiding architectural decisions and building a modern ticketing solution that enhances peer-to-peer fundraising experiences. The position is based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, with a hybrid work arrangement.
The engineer will define and drive the technical roadmap for the new platform, ensuring scalability and integration with the broader GoFundMe ecosystem. Responsibilities include designing and implementing core system components, such as front-end architecture, APIs, event-driven flows, and webhooks. The role also involves mentoring engineers, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to system reliability through on-call rotations and incident management.
Candidates should have over eight years of professional software engineering experience, with strong full-stack capabilities and expertise in modern JavaScript/TypeScript development. Proficiency in frameworks like Angular and React/Next.js is essential, along with experience in building APIs and event-driven features. Familiarity with AWS services, performance monitoring tools, and a commitment to mentoring and elevating team members are also required.
