The Strategic Deal Desk Manager – AMER at Canva will serve as a key partner to the North America Sales team, focusing on developing deal strategies that promote growth and customer success. This role is integral to Canva's expanding Global Deal Desk team, which collaborates closely with Regional Sales Account Executives and Leaders to manage increasing deal volumes and complex structures. The position is based in San Francisco or Austin, with remote options available within the United States, preferably in California.
Key responsibilities include leading the structuring and pricing of complex, non-standard deals while ensuring compliance with revenue recognition policies and financial guidelines. The manager will work closely with cross-functional teams such as Sales, Legal, Finance, Revenue Recognition, Support, and Product to align on deal terms and address challenges effectively. Additionally, the role involves providing expertise on advanced deal structures, influencing global deal governance frameworks, and developing training programs for Sales and Deal Desk teams on topics like partner-led motions and subscription pricing strategies.
Candidates should have 7–10 years of experience in Deal Desk, Finance, Commercial Strategy, or related fields, preferably within the SaaS industry and with regional go-to-market exposure. Strong expertise in structuring complex SaaS and professional services deals, including multi-year and multi-entity transactions, is essential. A solid understanding of revenue recognition principles, SaaS commercial terms, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly are also required. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working across cultures and time zones, demonstrating both strategic thinking and tactical execution skills.
