Strategic Sourcing Manager
Canva is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager to join its Non-Tech Sourcing team, which operates at the intersection of Marketing, People, and Finance. This team manages a diverse portfolio, including media and marketing agency partnerships, professional services, contingent labor, and employee experience initiatives. The role is pivotal in shaping supplier partnerships, enhancing commercial discipline, and building scalable contracting experiences that reduce friction and increase delight.
The Strategic Sourcing Manager will own a diverse portfolio of indirect spend categories spanning Marketing, Professional, and General Services. Responsibilities include leading end-to-end sourcing activities across categories such as influencer and marketing agency services, professional and consulting services, employee events, staffing and labor, and employee benefits. The role involves conducting RFx processes, direct negotiations, and contract execution, as well as building strong relationships with stakeholders across Marketing, People, and Finance to drive proactive pipeline management. Additionally, the manager will conduct category deep dives to identify spend under management, consolidation opportunities, and value levers, and support the development of category strategies that balance commercial outcomes with stakeholder needs.
The ideal candidate will have over five years of sourcing or procurement experience, preferably within a fast-paced technology or multinational environment. They should be confident negotiators capable of maintaining strong supplier and stakeholder relationships, and possess analytical skills to build cases, prioritize portfolios, and demonstrate impact. The ability to bring structure to ambiguity, build category plans from scratch, and execute them independently is essential. Clear communication skills adaptable to different audiences, and enthusiasm for working across various categories, particularly within Marketing Services and General Services, are also important.
