Technical Manager- Food Assurance
The Technical Manager - Food Assurance at Eurofins Assurance India Pvt Ltd plays a pivotal role in managing compliance with International Accreditation Forum (IAF) guidelines, accreditation boards, and regional accreditation associations. This position involves overseeing adherence to various schemes, both Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and non-GFSI, and acting as the Certification Authority Representative for management systems-related schemes. The role is integral to ensuring the company's policies, processes, and procedures are consistently followed, while fostering awareness of the Code of Ethics, Zero Tolerance Policy, and Compliance Code within the team.
Key responsibilities include maintaining compliance with specific management system standards and normative documents, understanding accreditation body requirements, and staying updated on applicable laws and regulations for certification services. The Technical Manager is expected to lead and make decisions regarding certification and verification processes, including granting, refusing, maintaining, expanding, reducing, renewing, suspending, restoring, or withdrawing certifications. Effective communication with stakeholders such as the Impartiality Committee, Directors, accreditation bodies, and scheme owners is essential. Additionally, the role involves ensuring high competence among auditors, reviewing their qualifications and training, and conducting audits as needed to uphold high auditing standards.
Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree, preferably in Food Science, and have completed lead auditor courses in FSMS, FSSC, QMS, or equivalent. A minimum of five years of experience in technical audits, preferably within a certification body, and at least four years in the food industry, particularly in production or quality departments, are required. Mid-senior level exposure to handling technical governance, certifications, and accreditations is also necessary. Strong written and verbal communication skills, operational excellence, leadership, and problem-solving abilities are essential for success in this role.
