🛠️ The Role
You'll own full-cycle recruiting for Forward Deployed Engineers — customer-facing software engineers who solve complex business problems across industries. These aren't your typical backend developers. Our FDEs combine strong technical skills with the ability to understand customer needs, architect solutions on the fly, and deploy AI applications that transform how businesses operate.
This year, our recruiting team will hire approximately ~100 Forward Deployed Engineers as we scale. You'll be responsible for a significant portion of that hiring, working as an individual contributor on an existing recruiting team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Partnering directly with our Founder/CEO and leadership team to understand hiring needs and business priorities
- Building and managing pipelines of exceptional engineering talent who thrive in customer-facing, ambiguous environments
- Crafting unique sourcing strategies that go beyond LinkedIn — finding engineers in non-traditional places who have the right mindset, not just the right resume
- Owning the candidate experience from first outreach through offer acceptance and onboarding
- Designing and refining our interview process to better assess for the qualities that make FDEs successful at Northslope
- Using data and metrics to understand what's working, identify bottlenecks, and continuously improve our recruiting efficiency
