Technical Solutions Engineer
The Technical Solutions Engineer (TSE) at Arista Networks plays a pivotal role in supporting the company's suite of networking products and protocols. Operating within a collaborative environment, the TSE works directly with customers and interfaces with software and hardware development teams to ensure optimal product performance and customer satisfaction. In this role, the TSE is responsible for addressing customer inquiries via telephone and email, resolving concerns related to product installation, operation, maintenance, and compatibility. The engineer will troubleshoot hardware and software issues, recommend corrective actions, and document customer communications and recurring technical problems to support product quality initiatives and development programs.
Candidates should possess a working knowledge of the networking industry, products, and protocols. A minimum of 4-8 years of hands-on experience is required, encompassing designing, deploying, configuring, supporting, troubleshooting, debugging, and administering various network protocols and technologies, including AAA/TACACS, ACL, ARP, BGP, DHCP, Ethernet interfaces, Flow Control, ICMP, IGMP, IPv4 & IPv6, LACP, LLDP, MPLS, NAT, Open Flow, OSPF, PIM, QoS, RIP, Sflow, SNMP, STP/RSTP/MST, VARP/VRRP, VLAN, and VRF. Proficiency with troubleshooting tools such as IXIA, tcpdump, and Wireshark is highly desired, along with a strong comfort level with Linux. Familiarity with programming or scripting languages like C++, Java, Python, Perl, JavaScript, or shell is considered a plus.
The base salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $150,000, depending on factors such as skills, qualifications, relevant experience, and work location. Arista offers different pay ranges based on work location to provide consistent and competitive compensation appropriate to the market. In addition to base pay, certain roles may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses and equity.
