Workers' Compensation Paralegal
Morgan & Morgan is seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Paralegal to join our team in Birmingham, Alabama. As a key member of our legal team, you will provide comprehensive support to attorneys throughout all phases of litigation, from case initiation to trial. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing legal documents such as pleadings, motions, affidavits, complaints, and legal memoranda. You will e-file court documents in both state and federal courts, conduct legal research and factual investigations, and prepare discovery documents, including interrogatories and responses. Additionally, you will coordinate and summarize depositions, prepare trial binders and exhibits, and assist attorneys with various tasks as needed.
The ideal candidate will possess an associate degree, certificate, or equivalent work experience, along with a minimum of two years of litigation experience. Completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program and experience in personal injury, workers' compensation, premises liability, or other injury-related practice areas are preferred. Strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook are essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as a typing speed of at least 35 words per minute, are also required.
