ABS Consumer - Analyst / Senior Analyst (NY / Chicago)
The ABS Consumer - Analyst / Senior Analyst at KBRA will join the Asset-Backed Securities (ABS) Consumer team, working in a collaborative environment focused on structured finance ratings. KBRA, a global full-service rating agency, is recognized for its transparent, analytical approach and diverse rating methodologies. This position is based in either New York or Chicago, allowing flexibility depending on candidate location.
The role centers on conducting credit analysis and research for structured finance transactions, with a primary focus on consumer ABS products such as auto loans, personal loans, and credit card receivables. Day-to-day responsibilities include building and maintaining financial models, preparing rating committee presentations, contributing to rating reports, and tracking industry trends relevant to consumer finance. Analysts are also expected to interact directly with issuers, arrangers, and investors and support the surveillance of assigned transactions.
Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field, with 1-3 years of relevant work or internship experience in structured finance, capital markets, or a related analytical discipline. Strong quantitative, writing, and communication skills are essential, as are advanced proficiency in Excel and a detail-oriented, team-driven mindset. A high level of initiative and time management is expected, especially when operating within tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience and location, with the total annual salary expected to range from $80,000 to $105,000 for Analyst and up to $145,000 for Senior Analyst, complemented by performance-based incentives.
