KBRA is seeking an Assistant General Counsel to join its Legal Department in either Dublin, Ireland, or London, England. This role focuses on privacy, data protection, and contract-related matters within a dynamic and collaborative environment. The Legal Department manages all legal affairs of the company, excluding ratings, and works closely with analysts, compliance, finance, technology, and senior management teams.

The Assistant General Counsel will be responsible for advising on international data privacy and cybersecurity laws, including GDPR, UK GDPR, and the ePrivacy Directive. Key duties include enhancing and maintaining privacy policies, conducting privacy impact assessments, managing vendor and third-party due diligence, and addressing cross-border data transfer issues. The role also involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various contracts, such as data processing agreements, vendor contracts, client engagement letters, and technology service agreements. Additionally, the position requires monitoring developments in privacy, data protection, and AI, as well as delivering training programs to internal teams.

Candidates should possess a qualifying law degree and be admitted to practice as a solicitor in Ireland or England & Wales, with 4-8 years of post-qualification experience in privacy and data protection law. Strong experience in drafting and negotiating contracts with privacy-sensitive clauses is essential. Applicants must demonstrate knowledge of GDPR, cross-border data transfer mechanisms, ePrivacy laws, vendor risk management, and basic cybersecurity principles. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with strong research, analytical, organizational, and project management abilities, are required. Experience in regulated environments, such as financial services or technology sectors, is advantageous. IAPP certifications like CIPP/E or CIPM are considered a plus.
