Account Executive
Baselayer is seeking an Account Executive to join their team in New York City. As a leading AI Risk Platform, Baselayer automates merchant onboarding, underwriting, and fraud prevention for over 20% of financial institutions in the U.S. The company is dedicated to making financial services more accessible to small businesses by leveraging authoritative government data and AI-driven solutions.
In this role, the Account Executive will be responsible for managing the entire sales cycle, including prospecting, qualification, discovery, demonstrations, pilots, negotiation, and closing deals. The position involves building and maintaining a robust pipeline across SMB, mid-market, and enterprise accounts, executing outbound prospecting sequences, and leading discovery conversations to understand customer pain points. Additionally, the role includes conducting product demos, managing customer trials, collaborating with Product and Engineering teams to share customer feedback, and working with Go-To-Market leadership to refine positioning and sales strategies.
Candidates should have 2 to 4 years of experience in SaaS sales, fintech, financial services, or a highly analytical Go-To-Market role, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets. Experience in running complex, consultative sales cycles with technical or analytical buyers is essential, along with strong skills in discovery, storytelling, and objection handling. Comfort in operating in ambiguous and rapidly evolving environments, a proactive and self-directed mindset, and the ability to engage credibly with leaders across fintech, credit, fraud, risk, and operations are also important.
The compensation package includes a base salary ranging from $95,000 to $145,000, plus equity and variable compensation through commissions. Benefits encompass flexible paid time off, comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan with company match, HSA contributions, and a $250 annual gym stipend. The role is based in New York City with a hybrid work schedule, requiring four days a week in the office.
